The professionalism of the UK emergency services is admired around the world, and the skills, expertise and experience of our first responders are honed through extensive programmes of training and exercising.
the simulation centre is an ideal place for the safe training and exercising of both technical and non-technical skills, employing complex scenarios that accurately mimic the challenges faced by emergency responders as they manage a range of major incidents, emergencies, crises and disasters.
Current uses of the simulation centre include single- and multi-agency exercises, private-sector exercises and work on the training and testing of individuals from the emergency services, designed to demonstrate capability prior to promotion. Our users compliment the realistic environments that are created, and the accurate reproduction of the stress, uncertainty and resource constraints of real incidents.
At Coventry University the School of Energy, Construction and Environment (ECE) brings together a range of disciplines that impact upon resilience, emergency planning and incident management, under the umbrella of our well-established BSc and MSc programmes in Emergency Management and Resilience. The lecturers are experts in their field and actively research best practice and new technologies. All this knowledge and educational expertise is available to input and advise on courses in the simulation centre.
